About Angela

Angela Farlow Rumball is a voice and piano teacher and musician in Greensboro and the Triad. She teaches students of all ages, including children and teenagers with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She takes an eclectic approach to teaching which combines teaching fundamental skills with the interests and goals of each student.

She began learning to read music at 5, followed by piano lessons with Maxine Salvatore, and voice lessons with Christine Weidinger. As she pursued voice she quickly found a passion and talent for opera, and has performed roles such as Zerlina from Don Giovanni, and The Queen of the Night from Die Zauberflöte. She has also been a featured soloist with the North Carolina Symphony, Master Chorale and Ballet.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts in music with a minor in psychology at Winthrop University. There she studied voice with John Fowler and Kristopher Irmiter, and piano with Dr. Matthew Manwarren. Since leaving college she has continued to perform professionally as a vocalist and pianist, while pursuing a full-time career as a voice and piano teacher both privately and as an adjunct professor at William Peace University.

She recently completed her M.M. in vocal performance while studying under Dr. Carla LeFevre along with a P.B.C. in musicology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her masters recital and research focused heavily on Japanese language Art Song and particularly the works of Makiko Kinoshita. She also recently wrote an article for A Seat at the Piano which focused on her development of accessible scores. She continues to teach privately and perform professionally.
